Civil War Veterans of Waco 92
In 1860, the legendary Sam Houston stood on the porch of our Masonic Hall in the downtown Square and gave a speech in which he begged Wacoans to vote against seceding from the United States. Unfortunately, their minds were already made up and an extraordinarily high number of our members went to fight in the Civil War. Many of them never returned. As we continue to explore and study the history of our lodge, we are always finding more men to add to this list. As of now, here are the members of Waco Lodge known to have fought in the American Civil War.
