We are pleased to share the news that our Senior Warden, Keith Sanders, received the Champion of Christian Service Award from Mission Waco. Many of you know that Mission Waco is a tremendously valuable organization to the central Texas community. Their mission statement reads as follows:
“Provide Christian-based, holistic, relationship-based programs that empower the poor and marginalized. Mobilize middle-class Americans to become more compassionately involved among the poor. Seek ways to overcome the systemic issues of social injustice which oppress the poor and marginalized.”
I don’t know about you but I’m proud to sit in lodge with a man who earned an award from an organization with those kinds of goals. Brethren, if you see Keith Sanders anytime soon, give him a pat on the back and thank him for representing masonry in the community. A flyer from the award event reads as follows:
“Keith has been instrumental in serving the coaches and athletes during our annual FCA(Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Victory Bowl week. From washing laundry, fitting equipment, and making coffee, Keith does it all. He is the son of a Texas high school coach and a graduate of UMHB. He is married, has two kids and his real job is as insurance agent with Farmers Insurance, which he has done for 11 years.”
These are the kinds of things we like to see from our membership and we look forward to Keith’s continued leadership at the lodge.
