J. R .G. Harris

Jim Harris was born in Alexander on June 30, 1889. He went on to study at Stamford College and then McMurray in Abilene. His career was spent in transportation where he worked as a railroad telegrapher, train dispatcher, and freight line accountant.

Harris assumed the leadership of our Lodge on the tail-end of our most prolific era in terms of new membership. He filled every station during that time and his service to the lodge was needed and well-remembered by the brothers decades later.

He was a Knight Templar and a Shriner and was a deacon with the local Methodist Church.
