Scottish Family Reunion Comes to Waco Lodge
At the July Stated Meeting, the Clan Uisdean joined us for Kilted Soldiers at supper and their family genealogist provided an educational program about the history of their family in America. They were quick to point out that Brother Sam Houston of Texas legend was of Uisdean lineage. The Uisdean attendees traveled from all over the country and several of them also happen to be Masons. One of them, Brother David McCuistion is currently serving as a District Instructor under the Grand Lodge of California. In total, about 35 people were present at the meeting and supper.
During the meeting, a candidate was approved to receive the degrees in Masonry. Junior Past Master McHam presented plaques for all of the officers that served with him in 2018-19 and Brother Marshall presented McHam with a serial no. 92 belt buckle.
On the following night, the Master and Secretary of the Lodge headed over to the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum to join the Uisdeans for a festive night of celebration. Live music was provided by a local Celtic band and BBQ was served. Throughout the evening, attendees were able to explore the museum and our Secretary bored WM Holloway with endless stories about all the historic members of our Lodge who had been Texas Rangers.
