August Newsletter

From the East

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and staying cool!!! We had a busy July. New officers were installed and Tranquility lodge had their annual meeting at Waco 92. We had over 70 brothers from across the state and a few brothers from other states and countries that came to the meeting. I would like to give a special thanks to Mark Brickhouse, Dave McHam, Joe Goodman and Kim Cowart. We also couldn’t have pulled off the event without Dottie Brown and Sherrie Goodman. These guys & gals worked hard preparing lunch, and made us look very good with the members of Tranquility. We received lots of compliments and we look forward to their visit next July.

We have upcoming fellowcraft degrees and more. If you’re able, please come out to support our young masons. I would love to see some new faces attending these degrees. If you’re interested, let us know. We will find a part for you and make sure you know it and you’re also welcome to just come enjoy  the fellowship and welcome the new brother along his journey.

For our August stated meeting, we will continue putting together committees for the ensuing masonic year and start working on new projects. We would love to have your input and opinions! Please come join us at our next stated meeting August 10th. If you’re unable to get to lodge on your own, please don’t hesitate to call, email or text. We’ll find someone to give you a ride to and from lodge. Don’t let a lack of transportation be an excuse not to come join us!

From the Secretary’s Desk

Fun and exciting things are happening at Waco 92. Please be sure I have your current email addresses so I can keep you updated. Worshipful Master Sanders has addressed most of the important announcements in his August message so I will simply leave you with this:

“The eyes of Texas are upon you

Men of Ninety-Two.

And now on this your anniversary

We wish to honor you.

May your standards be the highest,

And God your leader firm and true —

Remember, Brothers, to be worthy

of Waco Ninety-Two!”

This is a song that was performed by the choir of St. John’s Methodist Church at Waco Lodge’s anniversary celebration in 1950. They were led by our Past Master Brother Lewis Holze and the message is clear. Texas is watching. Let’s live up to the expectations.
