From the East

Greetings Brethren,

I have meditated recently on the section in the monitor that describes how our ancient brethren served their masters; this is as relevant today as it was in times of antiquity. Freedom, fervency, and zeal. The order of these concepts is no accident, in my interpretation.  Freedom should be first, because if one does not freely serve, one does not truly serve. Fervency belongs in the middle, because once a brother has freely chosen to serve, he becomes ignited with an inner passion that provides staying power for the many tasks that he assumes. That leaves zeal, which is the final product, or the fruits of labor or the sustenance. All three form a harmonious whole.

Until next time, be well!

Fraternally,

Mark Brickhouse, WM

From the Secretary’s Desk

Greetings Brethren,

I hope that everyone had a great summer. During the summer months Waco 92 has seen quite a bit of activity with the members. We have had several EA’s and a couple of Master Mason Degrees. It is great to see our numbers increasing.  If you encounter any of our new EA’s or Master Masons, please give them a well-deserved greeting.

I don’t have a lot to report this month. I have been a little under the weather so to speak. As many of you might know by now, I sustained a fall at home early last month. I had to have four stitches in my left elbow and a concussion. It has been a slow process back to recovery, but I am making good progress every day. I hope to be back at full strength by the middle of September.

Dues will be going out the later part of next month or the first of November. Please remember that the dues have increased to $100 per year. When you get your dues notice, please remit as soon as you can.

This month the lodge will be hosting the Briscoe Workshop at our lodge on September 15th. If you can attend, I would urge all members to take advantage of this workshop and attend. I have been to several of these, and they are very informative. The 15th of September is a Thursday night. We will server a meal around 6PM with the workshop to follow.

Hope to see everyone at lodge this month.

Fraternally yours,

Tom Waden, Secretary
