Making Waco Men Better Since 1852

WM September 2014 Message

Summer is almost over and if you are like me you will be glad to see cooler temperatures. Besides it being hot, the summer months tend to be a lighter turnout for lodge meetings. I am hoping attendance picks up in fall since we have a great lineup of programs for the rest of the year. In September, we will be having a program by Mark Felton, Executive Director of the Waco American Red Cross office. October’s stated meeting is Past Master’s and award night, including the presentation of the Golden Trowel to Past Master Jim Lowe. In November, the Masonic Education Committee will have a presentation and in December, we will welcome representatives from the Boy Scouts of America and present the Community Builder Award. As you can see, we do more than read the minutes and pay the bills so come join us for food, fellowship, and fraternity.

I want to thank those who helped during our lodge clean up Saturday Aug 16th. We got a lot done and had a good time while we were doing it. If you want to help but can’t do manual labor, please let me know and I’ll assign you to one of our 14 lodge committees.

By now, I hope all have had a chance to see our new lodge website at http://www.wacomasonic.org I hope you have also taken some time to review our proposed lodge Rules and Regulations. They are posed on our other website at http://waco92.org/rules.pdf We hope to take a vote on them at the September stated meeting.

With all the turmoil we hear in the news today, it’s nice to know you have a place where you can go that we will call you our brother and our friend. You are always welcome to come and chat and enjoy fine cooking from our stewards. This is your lodge. Come home as often as you can.
